Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience in US GAAP accounting principles within revenue accounting (ASC 606) and related Cost of Sales in a public accounting or multinational company setting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and manage global processes for the accounting of Search and Geo products, including but not limited to: business, cost of business, contra-business accruals, business allowance, deferred business, operating expenses and the related balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform month-end close processes, including contract review, processing payments and preparing/posting journal entries and assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Prepare and present financials and fluctuations analyses to management and support any ad-hoc requests from cross-functional teams.
  • Support product launches and changes in business operations. Provide controllership guidance to Business, Product, Financial Planning and Analysis and other cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with internal teams and engineering and business partners to define, establish and implement accounting systems, processes and procedures. Review processes and implement controls to ensure mitigated risk for Google.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with streamlining operational process (e.g. automation) and familiarity with SQL.
  • Experience in creating accounting memos, process documentation and presentations.
  • Ability to have strong attention to detail, organizational skills and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Passion for driving business decisions by analyzing large data sets.
