Requirements
- Valid and unrestricted registered pharmacist in the State of Ohio
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy required
- Experience in patient care and performing clinical oversight for the services provided is required
Responsibilities
- Oversees the planning, organization, and evaluation of pharmaceutical services provided by retail pharmacists
- Assists in managing, guiding, coaching, and evaluating the work performance of retail pharmacists and technicians
- Coordinates all aspects of patients’ pharmaceutical needs in OSUMC inpatient and outpatient areas
- Medication order approval and distribution
- Patient medication profile review for drug-drug interactions, duplication of therapy, drug allergy interactions and appropriate regimens
- Patient counseling, disease state management, and coordination of patients’ pharmaceutical needs with physicians and nurses
- Supervising technicians, undergraduate and graduate student teaching, and providing educational programs for hospital/clinic staff
- Educating pharmacist and technician staff on workflow, disease, and treatment updates and for precepting residents and students
Preferred Qualifications
- Residency and/or a minimum of 3-5 years of academic medical center outpatient pharmacy experience preferred
