Requirements
- Associate degree
- Type of degree: Applied Science or Equivalent
- Area of study or major: Respiratory Care or NBRC approved registry requirements
- Valid Ohio Respiratory Care License
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP certification required within 6 months of hire or based upon course availability
- PALS certification required within 6 months of hire or based upon course availability
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the respiratory assessment, therapeutic treatment, evaluation, testing, education, and communication for all patient populations served
- Maintains competency in the broadest range of respiratory therapy and technologies
- Works independently within the entire scope of respiratory services at their respective facilities
- Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team to promote an excellent patient experience
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with the Ohio Respiratory Care Laws, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional and system policies
