Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or related field and/or significant experience and knowledge of mental health and addiction services.
  • Extensive knowledge of social services system and providers with whom collaborations may be sought.
  • Knowledge of criminal justice system.
  • Must abide by all requirements of the Oklahoma Rules of Professional Conduct for lawyers codified at Title 5, Appendix 3-A of the Oklahoma Statutes.
  • Ability to have a flexible working schedule.
  • Willingness to serve as an advocate for OIDS clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Self-directed.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with Clients who may be in detention or out of detention awaiting trial at the direction of assigned OIDS attorney.
  • Develops an Individualized Care Plan based on Needs Assessment data.
  • Identifies and links clients to needed resources.
  • Assists clients in securing needed documentation such as a social security card, birth certificate, etc.
  • Assists clients in accessing public benefits.
  • Manages relationships with resource organizations and develop systems to ensure coordination and communication between OIDS and partners’ staff.
  • Collects data to include demographic and referral information for outcomes and for inclusion in funding proposals and reports as needed.
  • Participates in all staff meetings as required.
  • Attends training and seminars as relevant.
  • Demonstrates the core values of the organization.
  • Notifies referral attorney and Chief of Client Services immediately if a client exhibits an immediate concern, ie, suicidal thoughts, crossing or attempting to cross boundaries.
  • Attends Quarterly In-Person Team Meetings, Attends scheduled TEAMS case studies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
