Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years’ experience in office, program or project administration including some experience in research compliance or in contract, grant, or research administration.
  • Strong knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in Research Development.
  • Assists with drafting of newsletters.
  • Scouts for funding opportunities.
  • Curates and crafts compelling lists of grant proposals for distribution to faculty, often segmented by discipline or college.
  • Coordinates inventory process and maintenance of business files.
  • Acts as liaison between internal departments and external clients/vendors.
  • Organizing meetings, events, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • May serve as a liaison with financial, payroll, and/or human resources. May coordinate routine personnel activities and maintenance of personnel files and approve leave requests.
  • Assists with planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring events.
  • Develops financial and statistical analyses and summary reports. Composes correspondence. Assists with administration of unit, program, or project.
  • Participates in the hiring and training of business staff and/or student workers.
