Requirements

  • Currently has, or in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in the field of VLSI Circuit Design, Computation Architecture, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer Vision or a related field
  • Experience in one or more of the following fields: Hardware architectures and novel emerging technologies (memories, 3d-integration), Machine Learning Accelerator Design, Sensor Design and Modeling, Machine Learning Algorithms, Neural Networks, Physics based models, or a related field
  • Experience with programming languages like C/C++, Python, MATLAB, Torch, etc
  • Experience in 3D computer vision algorithms including Calibration, SLAM, Reconstruction, Mapping, Localization, Tracking and Image Processing
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta

Responsibilities

  • Explore ground breaking intelligent vision and sensing technologies for AR/VR systems
  • Implement machine perception and artificial intelligent algorithms that are suitable for on-sensor integration for low-power, low latency cognitive systems
  • Develop sensing and vision processing circuit and hardware, investigate innovative sensor architectures and on-sensor vision processing compute engines
  • System performance and evaluation by modeling, simulation, experimenting, data collection, and tradeoff study
  • Collaborate with internal and external computer vision scientists, hardware and software architects, perception scientists, and optical experts on cutting edge vision systems
  • Mentor MS/PhD interns and collaborate with external academic groups and companies to advance our research goals
  • Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in system modeling across data/image capture, signal processing pipeline, algorithms
  • Experience with formulating and solving algorithm optimization problems
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results, as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, or first-authored publications at leading workshops or conference (e.g., IEEE VLSI Symposium, IEEE ISSCC, IEEE IEDM, JSSC, IEEE TCAS, ICCV, ISCA, Micro, etc.)
