Requirements
- PhD degree
- 4+ years post-doctoral research experience
- Strong publication record in the field of cell biology, cancer biology, and/or translational research
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Technical expertise in molecular biology, multicolor flow cytometry, cell sorting, cell biology assays and tissue culture techniques
- Methods for gene knock-out including CRISPR
- Familiarity with cancer genome databases and large-scale data analysis
- Live cell microscopy experience
- Experience with murine models
- Cellular antigen Receptor (CAR) T cellular therapy development
- Experience with human cell lines xenografts
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, implement and direct research projects
- Contribute to develop, write and submit grant proposals of original research to obtain significant salary and research support from outside funding agencies
- Develop, adopt, and implement new laboratory methods
- Plan, design and conduct complex experiments
- Extract, compile, analyze, and evaluate raw data to establish relevance to problems being evaluated
- Write manuscripts, articles, abstracts and research reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Attend and present research findings at national and international scientific conferences
- Develop and conduct educational workshops, lectures and seminars
- Collaborate with other researchers in determining research priorities and planning programs of research
- Develop new and on-going collaborative research opportunities
- Understand and oversee ongoing projects and enable strict adherence to established timeline
- Develop and maintain working relationship and track productivity with collaborators and potential industry sponsors
- Write IRB and IACUC protocols as needed for research
- Ensure accountability for compliance to federal and institutional laboratory safety regulations
- Train junior investigators, post-doctoral researchers, graduate students and technicians within laboratory
- Participate in supervision of research staff
- Contribute to clerical duties as needed for good laboratory practice (e.g. ensuring presence of necessary reagents, annotation of cell lines and other key reagents developed in the lab)
