Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineering and with experience in Machine Design or Electrical component development.
  • BS degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience designing electromechanical assemblies (robotics, automotive, aerospace, industrial automation).
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS, Siemens NX or similar CAD tools.
  • Experience with prototyping processes and materials.
  • Experience with embedded systems and communication protocols.
  • Experience in tolerance analysis, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: mechanical and electrical system design and analysis problems for robotics structure, mechanisms, power transmissions, electric components, and systems integration while balancing ergonomics, performance, reliability.
  • Supporting parts manufacture: Working with internal/external partners to support part fabrication and complex custom sub assembly.
  • Assembly of robot: Hands on work in the lab constructing sub-assemblies to full system level robot prototypes.
  • Failure analysis: Build subsystem test fixtures, design tests, create test plans, perform tests, measure and analyze data, and refine design assumptions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers to deliver technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering and with experience in Machine Design.
  • Experience in Robotics and consumer electronic product design.
  • Experience in power electronics and battery management programming.
  • Familiarity with traditional mass production manufacturing processes, including injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal.
  • Experience with automation equipment design and custom machine builds.
  • Experience with simulation tools conducting finite element analysis: structural and modal.
