Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field)
- 3+ years of related experience in engineering design and development
- Solid technical understanding of engineering principles and procedures
- Ability to articulate how your role ties into the function or discipline
- Demonstration of application of engineering principles on individual/small projects
- Experience with TQM methods (e.g. ‘six sigma’) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our cross-functional team to design, develop, and enhance new products and processes, leveraging your expertise in engineering principles and procedures.
- Apply sound techniques to solve complex problems, making design recommendations that meet or exceed specifications.
- Assess results, ensuring application, validity, and conformance to specifications, and recommend material and process specifications.
- Utilize engineering tools, such as FMEA, Process Modeling, and Design of Experiments, to solve straightforward problems and drive process improvements.
- Lead small project teams to accomplish project objectives, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Estimate project costs, including capital and cross-functional expenses, and estimate costs affected by design and/or policy changes.
- Work with your supervisor to recommend capital expenditure and production methods for existing or enhanced products or processes.
- Study and recommend techniques to improve existing products and processes, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- Investigate new sources for raw materials or processes, staying ahead of the curve in terms of industry trends and best practices.
- Formulate and recommend engineering policies and technical work in accordance with project and business objectives, in collaboration with your supervisor.
- Provide supervision to technicians, mentoring and guiding them to achieve their full potential.
