Requirements
- Completion of at least four junior and senior level food science program courses and one semester lab experience; experience with conducting sensory panels
- Ability to work in a laboratory setting using a stove, ability to use library resources for literature search
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory experiments and collect data (soak quinoa, followed by popping; measure volumetric, color, and %popped) 40%
- Perform literature search and writing (review related literature and write manuscript for publication) 30%
- Prepare for and conduct consumer sensory panel in June (work with Sensory Lab manager, prepare and serve samples) 15%
- Perform data analysis (prepare objective and subjective data for analysis) 15%
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field.
- Experience using Hunter colorimeter, Excel spreadsheets.
