Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in mechanical system operations, maintenance auditing, or reliability engineering within critical facilities (e.g., data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical system design, operation, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites and prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mechanical system audits to verify equipment functionality, maintenance compliance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Review commissioning and maintenance documentation to ensure alignment with reliability standards.
  • Attend system startup and facility acceptance testing to validate installation quality and performance.
  • Document compliance gaps and develop remediation plans with clear timelines.
  • Create standardized audit protocols that can be implemented across all locations.
  • Audit and assess existing mechanical maintenance programs for completeness, effectiveness, and operational risk mitigation.
  • Recommend enhancements to preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Verify compliance with vendor recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) following equipment failures or anomalies.
  • Identify and document reliability risks and develop corrective action plans.
  • Conduct system failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA) and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional reliability improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Mentor site operations teams on advanced mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Audit new construction mechanical installations for maintainability, accessibility, and reliability best practices.
  • Review mechanical system drawings, submittals, and shop drawings for design risks impacting long-term reliability.
  • Interface with Design Engineering and Construction teams to recommend reliability improvements.
  • Provide technical coaching and audit feedback to site operations teams on mechanical system best practices.
  • Assist Facility Operations teams in developing mechanical troubleshooting guides and reliability standards.
  • Analyze mechanical system performance trends and reliability metrics.
  • Provide data-driven reports and recommendations to improve system uptime and reduce lifecycle costs.
  • Support strategic planning for equipment replacement based on performance audits and end-of-life analyses.
  • Implement energy efficiency improvements without compromising reliability.
  • Handle additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by Management.
