Requirements
- Engineering student (Mechanical, Chemical, Reliability or Systems engineering preferred) either in final year of 4 year Bachelor’s program completed at the time internship begins or Graduate students pursuing their Master’s degree graduating by 2026
- Strong data analysis skills, with some experience mining data from various databases and preferably experience in using JMP, Minitab or other statistical analysis programs.
- Experience in Python and SQL preferred.
- Some background in statistical analysis classes or work experience preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite experience.
- Strong discipline and attention to detail for accuracy of analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including development of presentations.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Reliability Engineering Team to characterize performance of solid oxide fuel cells, focusing on field return units.
- Study the different types of failures observed in fuel cells and correlate fuel cell performance with failure patterns.
- Create a process flow and automation to assign failure reason to fuel cells for a large fleet of fuel cells.
- Work with Quality, Remote Monitoring and Engineering teams to identify the failure modes for systems returned from the field.
- Support Reliability team in documentation and develop a database summarizing the root cause analysis for field return units.
- Organize and analyze data using JMP statistical analysis package to complete reliability analysis.
- Create PowerPoint presentation summarizing the analyses completed and conclusions and recommendations.
- Drive follow-up actions on special projects as needed from conclusions of analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Python and SQL preferred.
- Some background in statistical analysis classes or work experience preferred.
- Preferable track of study in Reliability Engineering.
