Requirements

  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in interstate natural gas pipeline functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field. Master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Deep knowledge of US Code of Federal Regulations Title 18 and US FERC Gas Tariffs.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively research, translate and communicate FERC regulatory and tariff requirements to internal, cross-discipline groups.
  • Ability to establish relationships across a broad range of departments.
  • Proficiency in developing written and verbal information, conducting meetings, and presenting to groups and individuals.
  • Strong analytical skills for problem solving.
  • Effective interaction and communication with all levels of management.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to FERC compliance related inquiries from individuals and teams across the company.
  • Build and support positive relationships with groups responsible for FERC Compliance activities.
  • Serve as the project lead on FERC compliance matters and mentor other team members.
  • Lead maintenance of the FERC Compliance Procedures Manual.
  • Establish and continuously improve practical metrics to confirm compliance with FERC rules, regulations and tariffs.
  • Develop and deliver in-person and computer-based FERC compliance communication and training programs.
  • Analyze advanced compliance issues and work with FERC Compliance Management and Subject Matter Experts to evaluate solutions and develop recommendations.
  • Monitor FERC regulations and guidance and identify potential impacts on jurisdictional assets.
  • Incorporate regulatory and tariff changes into the FERC Compliance program, as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain governance and compliance documents, aid with research, benchmarking, and drafting procedures.
  • Develop responses to FERC and customer data requests including audits.
  • Identify and communicate key risks and FERC regulatory and enforcement findings and trends to Senior Leaders.
  • Research, compile, and prepare summaries to support compliance recommendations and communicate regulatory changes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree is considered an asset.
