Registered Nurse – RN – Night Shift – Med Surg

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Passing score on NCLEX
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current Maryland State nursing license
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice
• Use equipment and technology correctly and delegate non-nursing duties appropriately
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population
• Identify impending changes in patient condition accurately and initiate corrective action
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective
• Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings appropriately to practice
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice based on evidence

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area
