Registered Nurse Assistant Manager NICU

BSN or completion of BSN within 4 years of hire
Active RN license in the state of practice (or compact license)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage NICU operations, and provide effective support in high-pressure situations

Oversee daily NICU operations, ensuring that care is delivered safely and in alignment with hospital standards
Manage and coordinate NICU nursing staff assignments, anticipating staffing needs, and ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts
Serve as a key leader in responding to emergent or urgent patient care situations in the NICU, providing rapid assessments and coordinating interventions as needed
Work closely with NICU physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to promote effective communication and ensure smooth care transitions for neonates
Lead by example to create a positive experience for patients and their families, addressing concerns and escalating issues as necessary
Advocate for workplace safety by promoting adherence to infection control protocols and encouraging transparency in patient care practices
Provide mentorship and coaching to nursing staff, particularly new nurses, facilitating smooth transitions into NICU care roles
Act in accordance with the hospital’s Emergency Operations Plan during crises or disasters, particularly in the NICU setting
Facilitate the movement of patients through the NICU and other care settings, minimizing barriers and ensuring timely care
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and hospital-specific regulations, maintaining high standards of nursing practice in the NICU
