Requirements
- Two years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying rules, regulations and procedures
- Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data
- Three months experience collecting money and making change
- Completion of an associate’s degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.
Responsibilities
- Help the public with obtaining Real ID license, instruction permit or identification cards
- Serve as a primary representative in the office for Real ID transactions
- Accurately produce photo licenses, instruction permits and identification cards
- Administer, correct and explain driver license knowledge test. Conduct vision tests
- Explain state and federal requirements for different driver and identification transactions
- Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws
- Communicate clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds to accurately answer complex questions
- Collaborate with office leaders and managers to ensure efficient operations related to issuing Real ID
- Examine documents for eligibility prior to issuing credentials
- Prepare daily reports and balance transactions at the end of each day
- Travel to other offices in the region to perform relief work
- Work is performed in a DMV office setting with extensive face to face interaction with the public
- Must be able to type at least 30 words per minute with a high level of accuracy. A typing assessment will be conducted at the time of interview for selected candidates.
