Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience assembling implantable medical devices.
Responsibilities
- Building transcatheter valve prototypes for bench testing, preclinical, or clinical use
- Sewing tissue, fabric, and metal components under a microscope
- Riveting
- Chemical treatments of components or finished prototypes
- Inspecting components, subsystems, or finished prototypes
- Assembling fixtures for bench testing
- Completing documentation related to the prototype building, inspection, or testing
- Working in a cleanroom
- Collaborating directly with engineers to create and optimize work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Assembled Class III implantable medical devices, including sewing tissue, fabric, and metal components with sutures under a microscope
- Performed quality control tasks for Class III medical devices, such as inspection
- Worked in a cleanroom
- Has experience in the assembly and/or manufacturing quality control of tissue bioprosthetic valves, preferably in a research and development environment
- Worked with a laser cutter
- Performed chemical treatments
- Is an established and productive individual contributor, working effectively under moderate supervision
- Demonstrated good judgment and decision-making ability
- Exercises good communication skills, ideally working directly with engineers
- Practices Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Committed to Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) initiatives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft Office and Teams
