Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science or equivalent number of years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in consumer products or plastic film extrusion.
- Flexibility to adapt to working hours with team members in different time zones.
- Strong technical curiosity and creative problem-solving skill with a record of innovative technical solutions implemented within the business.
- Capability to work independently and implement multiple projects in a timely manner.
- Ability to understand scale up challenges and using innovative approaches to overcome those challenges.
- Be able to travel internationally around 20% (2 – 3 times a year, approximately 2-week engagements).
Responsibilities
- Represent one R&D voice balancing risk, impact, speed, and decision-making complexity.
- Lead the execution of projects from concept to launch by applying technical leadership and partnering with subject matter experts, cross-functional partners and project managers.
- Translate consumer needs into technical product specifications and processing standards, to include the development and implementations of innovations with international manufacturers and technology partners.
- Lead the design and execution of technical testing, including development of new test methods at both the Glad Pilot Plant and external manufacturing partners. Leading technical risk assessments and mitigation plans.
- Develop a technical support plan for product claims and build compelling product demos for customer sell-in stories.
- Analyze and interpret data to drive technical understanding, meet project targets and objectives, problem solve, and make recommendations that drive efficiency, knowledge, and manage/elevate risk.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and engineering teams to ensure consistent communication, successful start-ups, define any new capital requirement, influence future capabilities, and identify internal and external process improvements that deliver cost and/or efficiency savings.
- Closely track external industry technology development and trends to incorporate into business growth plans.
- Demonstrate a mentality of constant improvement and willingness to challenge past ways of working to drive efficiency in your work and presenting means of improving the work of the broader technical team.
- Visit suppliers, Clorox plants, and external manufacturers (mostly located in Asia-Pacific region) and work with them closely to enable new product launch.
