Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry, Business Administration)
  • Proven experience in lab supply procurement, inventory management, and safety initiatives
  • Familiarity with chemical waste disposal regulations and best practices
  • Knowledge of 6S principles and experience in implementing and managing 6S programs
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive problem solver with excellent decision-making abilities
  • Effective communicator and collaborator

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an accurate and well-organized inventory of lab supplies, tracking usage and restocking needs
  • Implement efficient inventory control measures to prevent shortages and reduce excess stock
  • Communicate with research teams to understand material needs for the lab
  • Initiate and manage the ordering process of lab supplies and materials through Ariba
  • Track inventory usage and report on trends
  • Support capital expenditure (CapEx) process through SAP, ensuring budget adherence and accurate tracking
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities for lab consumables and drive efficiency improvements
  • Create and distribute weekly cost analysis reports on budget spend
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable (AP), Procurement, and the Finance team to resolve any financial discrepancies or issues
  • Manage the 6S program to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain 6S standards
  • Implement improvements and educate staff on the importance of 6S principles
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols in collaboration with the safety team
  • Coordinate safety training programs for laboratory staff and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Actively participate in safety committees and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP and financial tracking preferred
