Requirements

  • 2 years experience in rail transportation or logistics industry required
  • Advanced knowledge of Google applications (Docs, Sheets and Slides)
  • Ability to operate custom supply chain software (ALTO, PI)
  • Ability to be on-call after normal working hours due to the 24-hour nature of our business.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the Ortec Supply Chain Design plan on optimizing the rail car fleet.
  • Analyze all rail routes to improve transit/turn times with the RSI software program in order to plan an optimized LAR rail schedule for our 175+ railcar fleet.
  • Actively works to improve rail detention time at rail depots work with railroads to identify and correct issues related to routing, spotting, etc.
  • Makes recommendations on utilizing rail vs. truck, in conjunction with distribution, Supply Chain and Logistics.
  • Support LAR Supply Chain Manager on continuous improvement projects.
  • Identify/track rail product losses and provide recommendations on reductions.
  • Ensure all rail shipments are accurately billed in ALTO on a monthly basis.
  • Compile and complete rail reports on a monthly basis.
  • Works closely with Railcar Fleet Maintenance team diagnosing and resolving issues with railcars at the source and destination.
  • Manages the LAR inventory levels at all rail depots to ensure customer supply is met.
  • Works closely with the AMG Logistics and Air Liquide Large Industries team(s) to manage LAR truck deliveries required for loading rail, including managing/scheduling 3rd party carriers dedicated to this task.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Industrial Gas supply chain experience
  • 2 years RSI software experience
