Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field
- Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of career in medical imaging
- Medical clerical skills preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist
- Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures
- Prepares patients for exam and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist
- Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist or registered nurse
- Assists physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound) to include procedures requiring the administration of contrast media
- Retrieves patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams
- Assists patients to restrooms, with bedpans, urinals and other ancillary clinical support needs as required
- Assists with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
