Requirements

  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) – American Heart Association
  • Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) – Indiana Department of Transportation
  • Radiography (ARRT-R) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Radiology Technologist License (RADTECH) – State Licensing Board

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized and difficult diagnostic imaging examinations of patients
  • Conduct preliminary analysis on images and collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to interpret images
  • Maintain optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties
  • Work closely with patients to ensure they understand procedures and are comfortable during procedures
  • Provide quality assessments, clinical care, testing, phlebotomy, injections, injury treatment, and education
  • Assist with clerical duties as needed
  • Assist with clinic operations and patient care functions including patients to treatment room, vital signs, patient weight, wound photography, finger stick blood testing, dressing application, calf measurements, assists RN with procedures as appropriate
  • Provide direct patient care including conducting assessments, assisting with procedures, rooming patients, defining plans of care, and providing appropriate related treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning
  • Perform Point of Care (POC) testing, interpret the results to guide care
  • Prepare and complete EKG testing and appropriately document results for provider review
  • Design and complete functional ability testing, such as lift testing
  • Treat injuries using appropriate treatment modalities within the scope of athletic training certification and state practice act
  • Complete and appropriately document audiometric testing on patients
  • Complete and appropriately document Pulmonary Function Tests on patients; complete Respiratory fit testing on Filtering Respirators (ie. N95), Full Face Respirators, and Half Face Respirators via qualitative and quantitative testing methods; educate patients on the use of PAPRs and CAPRs in the event that the patients fails respirator fit testing
  • Collect and properly document DOT and non-DOT Drug Screens Chain-of-Custody; perform breath alcohol testing, in accordance with policy and Federal Regulations
  • Obtain blood specimens from patients by performing venipuncture or finger sticks; collect urine specimens
  • Greet and check-in patients; verify information and enter it into the system; register patients for services in Electronic Medical Record, and collect all information required to validate identity and bill for services
  • Assist with clerical tasks as needed including telephone, appointments, etc. Enter all care provided in electronic medical record
  • Enter lab results and data into the electronic medical record system; receive insurance co-pay payments and post amounts paid to patient accounts as appropriate for setting
  • Assess and triage walk-in patients for signs of heart attack, stroke, active bleeding, etc.
  • Attend offsite wellness events; coordinate and bring all needed supplies; return supplies and route specimens to correct location after the event
