Requirements
- Strong understanding of FDA regulations for food and dietary supplements.
- Familiarity with GMP and HACCP principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately document and interpret quality control data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills for interfacing with other departments and providing training as needed.
- Familiarity with CO2 extraction processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry and report generation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Monitor and verify that all products comply with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to FDA requirements for food and dietary supplements, including the specific guidelines around purity, potency, and safety.
- Oversee critical control points in the CO2 extraction process to ensure consistency and safety.
- Monitor and document parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure) during supercritical CO2 extraction to ensure quality consistency.
- Assist in troubleshooting and adjusting processing parameters to address quality issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all quality control checks, sample submission, test results, and corrective actions in accordance with FDA and GMP documentation standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits, helping to provide required documentation and evidence of compliance with industry regulations.
- Ensure production team members are adhering to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), providing guidance or retraining as necessary.
- Identify areas for improvement within the quality control process and recommend modifications to procedures, methods, or equipment to enhance product quality.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to implement quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions in response to recurring issues or audit findings.
- Provide training to production staff on quality standards, testing procedures, and GMP requirements.
- Support production teams in understanding quality requirements and assist in troubleshooting quality concerns.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations in the workplace.
- Implement and monitor procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Ensure all activities align with HACCP and other relevant food safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience with supercritical CO2 extraction or botanical material processing is highly desirable.
