Requirements

  • Familiarity with the CAT dealer network
  • Knowledge of CPI and BIQ processes
  • Excel and Power BI experience
  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • AWS CWI certified
  • ASNT MT/PT Level II certifications and UT Level II certifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage a unionized hourly workforce consisting of a team lead and quality inspectors for welding, machining, assembly, painting, receiving, and packaging value streams across a three shift operation 24-7-365, objective is to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Creation and maintenance of the welding inspection quality gates in SAP.
  • Auditing AQE’s for correct coding and working with inspectors on making improvements to quality gates.
  • Annually quality inspector reviews assessing competence to perform job role.
  • Hiring and training quality inspectors and NDT technicians for MT/PT Level II certifications and UT Level I certification.
  • Improve quality of inspection system with implementation of AQE Check Items and or checklists.
  • Supporting development of quality assurance strategies, processes, guidelines and control plans which assure quality and reliability of manufactured products.
  • Developing and reviewing inspection reports with operations team and manufacturing engineering to solve quality issues.
  • Weekend support of value stream operations teams with quality inspectors.
