Requirements
- BS in Science/Technical field such as Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or Materials Science, with Quality Management experience.
- Working knowledge of SPC methods.
- At least four years experience in a metals or materials production/laboratory environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in formal Quality System auditing of manufacturing plants.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the Quality Management System and accompanying certifications and accreditations (AS9100, ISO 17025, and Nadcap MTL & HT).
- Manage mechanical test laboratories in addition to calibration, certification and inspections areas.
- Coordinate internal and external laboratory and inspection activities, including the supervision and scheduling of personnel and the coordination of equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Provide laboratory support to engineering as required.
- Development, implementation and maintenance of quality systems including standard operating procedures (SOP), statistical process control (SPC) charts and product specifications.
- Certification, documentation, and interpretation of material test results such as chemistry, tensile, hardness, metallographic and physical analysis.
- Responsible for operating a safe laboratory, including all environmentally safe procedures, and must follow all safety policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of statistical software and SAP systems is a plus.
- Certification and/or membership in various quality organizations a plus.
- Green Belt/Black Belt certification preferred.
