Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or business-related field
  • Previous experience in a leadership position preferred
  • 1-3+ years business process or manufacturing continuous improvement experience
  • Proven experience with ISO 9001 quality system requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with QA measuring and testing equipment
  • Knowledge in using and guiding Six Sigma, Lean tools, and Quality system controls
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Experience with product PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP
  • Experience reading and interpreting raw material and product design specifications
  • Strong project management and project leadership experience
  • Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands
  • Ability to establish relationships and influence all levels in the organization

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Lean and Quality campus professionals ensuring availability of adequate resources to exceed key performance metrics
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture and data driven improvements by using the RCCM process, ensuring that the containment actions are in place while eliminating the root cause
  • Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the operation using lean methodologies
  • Lead all aspects of the annual Strategic Deployment process including enterprise value stream mapping & transformation planning and funnel management for the Aberdeen, NC Campus
  • Facilitate, train and lead lean improvements while creating the right sponsorship to drive improvement activity
  • Develop cases and establish financial and non-financial project goals
  • Develop & maintain a Kaizen Calendar system to plan and implement events including the follow-up on open items from all KAIZEN events, assuring they are completed or planned into a future event
  • Be highly compassionate to associates and create a culture and environment for participation. Promote a hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Coach and mentor lean managers and coordinators/technicians to increase their lean knowledge and abilities to improve site performance and lean assessment scores
  • Establish campus quality culture and goals
  • Maintain product quality by implementing quality assurance policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods
  • Prepare product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Complete quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results
  • Own and keep up-to-date product quality documentation system by auditing, writing and updating quality assurance procedures
