Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification from a recognized quality institution like ASQ (American Society for Quality) is advantageous.
  • Certification in AS9100 or similar quality management standards in aerospace is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a Quality Inspector role within aerospace manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Experience in First Article Inspection (FAI) and familiarity with AS9102 standards.
  • Practical experience with various inspection techniques and equipment (CMM, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the assembly documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Observe assembly, lay-up, and torque operations.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections on both parts and assemblies.
  • Examine raw materials, piece-parts, and final assemblies.
  • Produce First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102.
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, tolerances, and additional requirements.
  • Document inspection and test results through logs, graphs, reports, and local systems.
  • Uphold maintenance of test and measurement equipment as well as calibration systems.
  • Assess customer returns and implement necessary internal corrective actions.
  • Execute other tasks related to the position as directed by leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading, understanding, and interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices, and procedures in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Capable of performing inspections using assembly instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to use precision measurement tools and calibrated equipment effectively.
  • Strong technical and computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, across various levels within the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of quality-centric practices and processes.
