- Collaboration & Teamwork is necessary to establish good working relationships with product team and when working with other product teams
- Strong Communication Skills are necessary when creating proposals and communicating in writing, in such a manner, that it is easy to understand and interpret what and why information is being communicated. Listens attentively without interrupting and/or being distracted by other things
- Displaying strong personal Initiative and motivation is vital to achieve desired performance results with projects that support the organization
- Strong Oral Communication and Presentation Skills are essential when making oral and graphical presentations to capture the interest and involvement of the audience while developing/delivering a clear and concise message
- Deep technical understanding of the process and materials involved, as well as keen ability for continuous learning and improvement of existing processes
- BS in Engineering or Technical discipline
Responsibilities
- Contributes to product development as a sustaining team member supporting Teledyne FLIR’s Product Lifecycle Management
- Chairs and administrates the Detector Change Review Board
- Conducts product and process qualification planning, testing, and reporting for new designs and processes
- Responsible for fielded reliability metrics and reporting and root cause analysis of field failures
- Facilitates Supplier, Customer and component qualification
- Coordinates containment and corrective action for non-conforming material
- Acts as primary Quality and Reliability Representative with suppliers and customers
- Leads regular quality status, audits and improvement activities
- Conducts Failure/Trend Analysis and Analytical Problem Solving and recommends and implements corrective actions
- Generates quality procedures and work instructions as needed
- Travels as required to suppliers, customers and/or outside labs as needed
- Strong cross-functional activities with Systems Engineering, Customer Service, Production, Process/Manufacturing Engineering, Customers, Suppliers, Executive Leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years working as a Quality, Reliability or Process/Manufacturing Engineer, especially in the infra-red or semiconductor industry
- Six-Sigma training and/or certification
- Lean manufacturing knowledge
- IR detector manufacturing experience
- IR detector physics understanding
- Quality systems ISO 9001:2015; ITAR/EAR controlled hardware; IATF
- Problem solving methodology and failure analysis tools
- Statistical process control
- Measurement system analysis (Gauge R&R)
- Supplier quality development
- Optical and mechanical inspection skills
- MS Office applications (must be proficient with Excel)
- Statistical and reliability software applications – like JMP
