Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering or a related field
  • 2 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or related occupation
  • Employment experience with Plus Systems Training (APQP)
  • Employment experience with BOS Systems Training
  • Employment experience with SQAM
  • Employment experience with AIAG Training
  • Employment experience with Lean Manufacturing Training

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality assurance support to the assigned program and/or area
  • Ensure that the product is built in accordance with customer and division quality requirements
  • Responsible for product and process quality
  • Ensure expected quality levels are attained in the assigned products
  • Identify and report quality problems or trends in the assigned area or product
  • Recommend or implement appropriate corrective action to quality problems
  • Review all documentation related to product quality in the assigned area
  • Generate or implement defect-reduction activities
  • Responsible for assigned control plans
  • Ensure that all special characteristics are identified on the control plan
  • Define, develop, and maintain whether the incoming inspection is required on incoming materials
  • Create and maintain incoming inspection work instructions
  • Evaluate nonconforming material and initiate supplier containment and corrective actions
  • Document quality issues and trends and establish prioritized improvement plans
  • Notify management of nonconforming product
  • Responsible for supplier quality on assigned supplier
  • Responsible for creating/approving quality standards and boundary samples
  • Ensure that process changes meet customer requirements
  • Responsible for updating quality documentation and completing required documentation for customer approval
  • Responsible for identifying/maintaining appearance master samples
  • Responsible for selecting appropriate process controls, defining requirements for data collection, analysis, and corrective action
  • Responsible for applicable TS-16949 and BOS standards
  • Evaluate and verify color
  • Ensure the protection of the environment, prevention of pollution and continual improvement of the environmental management system
  • Provide leadership in developing measures and practices that prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA/TCEQ standards
  • Continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous environmental, health, and safety conditions
  • Ensure environmental, health and safety hazards are corrected, eliminated, or guarded
  • Assess engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an ongoing basis
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents
  • Identify hazardous situations associated with accidents
  • Have the authority to stop and prevent unsafe actions
  • Investigate all near misses and other environmental/safety-related incidents
  • Ensure the results of environmental/safety audits are documented
  • Monitor the investigation of accidents and injuries
  • Ensure that corrective actions are taken and provide recommendations for ways to prevent similar accidents
  • Ensure that all incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner
