Requirements

  • 5+ years of combined experience in Supplier Quality and Supplier Development.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledgeable in the application of injection molding products such as CQI23.
  • Must be a certified auditor (IATF, ISO/TS, AIAG or VDA).
  • Solid analytical/problem solving skills with capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems.
  • Experience generating technical solutions utilizing 7 Diamonds, Red X, OpEx, Core Tools such as PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC Tools and others as applicable.
  • Proficiency with pulling prints, reading drawings, Vismoc, GDIS, GSIP, GQTS, PRTS, PADs, Gage Strategies.
  • Thorough understanding and capacity to effectively operate in all areas of the plant production process.
  • Effective communicator with solid oral and written presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the plant’s subject matter expert on vehicle interior products and develop quality standards and procedures for production operations.
  • Manage multiple projects with broad scope and high degree of difficulty.
  • Generate unique technical solutions utilizing 7 Diamonds Process, Red X, OpEx and other tools as applicable.
  • Assist production in prevention of defect occurrence and recommend process changes.
  • Work with Launch Team on new vehicle builds. Support Issue Resolution Team (IRT) Co-Chairs as necessary and transition commodities into the team as launch progresses into saleable builds.
  • Work with suppliers to address SPPS issued and ensure robust countermeasures.
  • Work with suppliers and engineering to develop inspection standards for parts and subassemblies.
  • Write SPPS/PRTS for interior issues identified by the plant team.
  • Coordinate periodic system and process audits at the plant and at suppliers.
  • Coordinate the Interior Harmony Reviews in a monthly basis.
  • Analyze Warranty data to identify and define problems.
  • Work with / give direction to the interior supplier quality engineers.
  • Work with interior suppliers and VAA assembly to assure quality.
  • Work with Industrial Engineers to assure proper handling and assembly of interior components to be captured in standardized work.
  • Support other Interior team members as needed/directed.
  • Improve the Interior bucket performance for First-time quality goal of 94.5%.
  • Improving the Interior critical component of the DRR and meeting the greater than 95% for BIQ4.
  • Work Off-Shifts as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Engineering.
  • Red X Journeyman Certified.
  • OpEx Greenbelt Certified.
  • Experience in the design, release, and validation of automotive components, industrial products or consumer electronics.
  • High level of independent judgment and decision.
  • Experience with ISO/TS 16949:2010, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, PDCA, DMAIC, 8D, and problem-solving tools.
  • Engineering Work Order (EWO)/Parts Release familiarity.
  • Knowledge of PPAP requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing and production environment.
  • Understanding of lean concepts.
