Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, compliance, quality, business, or a related field
- One (1) year of related experience working with the I/DD population or related social services experience
- Unquestionable ethics and integrity and high emotional intelligence
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to locations throughout the state of California.
Responsibilities
- Supports the director in assessment and monitoring of compliance and quality of services across the California region, ensuring that agency programs are in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and laws of regulatory/governing bodies, including Titles 17 and 22.
- Answers, researches and/or escalates inquiries regarding compliance, quality and HIPAA-related matters from program staff.
- Investigates quality, compliance, and HIPAA-related incidents, and generates comprehensive reports which identify root causes of incidents and include recommendations for appropriate corrective action(s).
- Oversees the implementation of recommendations generated from investigations.
- Performs internal audits of agency programs to assess compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations and generates thorough written reports of findings to address deficiencies and areas of concern.
- Oversees the development and implementation of corrective action plans in response to internal audits.
- Collects and/or monitors data collection for quality or compliance-related matters, ensuring appropriate documentation and tracking.
- Develops compliance-related training content, facilitates training sessions, and coordinates and ensures completion of refresher trainings by program staff, as needed.
- Performs audits to assess compliance with critical policies, procedures, and regulations applicable to California-based programs in preparation for external agency surveys and/or audits.
- Maintains ongoing topical knowledge of quality and compliance issues by keeping informed of emerging or changing legislative or regulatory requirements.
- Collaborates interdepartmentally and with external sources, such as oversight agencies, to ensure that best practices are met and that agency programs provide the highest quality of care for the people we support.
- Performs related work, as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or other advanced degree in one of the fields listed above
- Experience or familiarity with Title 17 & 22 regulations
- Certification in Healthcare Compliance
