- Professional Certification from a Recognized Materials Handling or Purchasing Association preferred.

Responsibilities
- Reviews purchasing requests and documents received from end users for completeness and accuracy of provided information necessary for the purchasing procedure and to ensure compliance with established Laboratory procurement policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Prioritizes requests.
- Determines method to process requisition based on cost, time constraints, competitive bidding, following established Laboratory procurement policies and procedures as well as local, state and federal guidelines.
- Places orders to vendors including orders for controlled substances, prescription drugs and radioactive items.
- Confirms prices, availability, and delivery.
- Updates purchase orders in computer system with a high degree of accuracy.
- Maintains records of supplies, amounts ordered and received, and actual sales records on items and vendors.
- Follows up on orders ensuring that materials and services are delivered on promised dates.
- Interacts with vendors and end users to coordinate, facilitate, and resolve day-to-day procurement issues.
- Coordinates on-campus vendor shows.
- Provides routine advice and support to end users on procurement process and documentation issues; may provide assistance in user training and problem resolution.
- Seeks new sources of supplies for materials and services and secures terms favorable for the Laboratory.
- Performs other duties as required such as schedules maintenance and services on equipment, adjusts grant encumbrances and rolls into next year, maintains catalog library, and filing.
- Assist in the operation of a maintenance stock room/receiving dock.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Education Preferred: Associate’s Degree
- Experience Required: 5 years
- Experience Preferred: 5 years
