Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Prior Public Safety Officer 1 or equivalent experience for at least 4 months
- Must have or obtain a concealed carry permit
- Must qualify with handgun and shotgun
- Must be trained in pepper spray, nova stun gun, self-defense, ATV, CPR and AED
Responsibilities
- Prevents crime by being visible through routine foot patrol and vehicle patrols of resort property.
- Intervenes in criminal activity by taking action to stop any crime in progress observed by the incumbent.
- Maintains security of all property by making routine vehicle and foot patrol, checking all doors and windows closing and locking all unsecured premises, watching for and preventing fires and other hazardous conditions.
- Enforces resort traffic regulations by placing warning stickers, writing tickets, and arranging for the towing of improperly parked vehicles.
- Mitigates hazards by seeking out fire, health, and safety hazards and reporting them for remedial actions; following up to see that the hazards have been alleviated; responding to fire and medical emergencies.
- Provides protection of guests and employees by preventing and intervening in confrontations that may occur between or among our guests and employees.
- Provides written documentation of all activities by filling out the appropriate reports, entering data into report database.
- Maintains traffic control signage by keeping sign inventory, installing, and replacing damaged or missing signs.
- Maintains security of resort money by providing services and transportation to those employees and others moving money within the resort.
- Maintains security of U.S. postal mail by providing protective service and transporting mail to and from the U.S. Post office and our contract post office.
- Aids Off-Mountain law enforcement by providing information, acting as backup.
- Provides information to guests and employees by maintaining a supply of pertinent brochures and handing them out as needed, providing updates to published brochures, and giving explicit directions or instructions.
