Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Strong understanding of Shipley proposal development methods and APMP best practices.
- 4-6 years of experience in business development, proposal writing, or similar support roles.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accountability.
- Proven ability to engage, interact, and collaborate professionally with a diverse group of colleagues.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Knowledge and awareness of business development, marketing activities, and proposal requirements.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with SharePoint, Teams, and OneNote.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as GovSignals for competitive analysis and tracking opportunities.
- Must be coachable, possess curiosity, and have a desire to learn.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency and desire to win.
- Must possess poise and focus in a deadline-driven and high-stress environment.
- Must be located in the NCR region and willing to commute to the company office in McLean 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities
- Support the development of technical, management, past performance, and executive summary sections for complex proposals.
- Work with SMEs to create clear, persuasive, and customer-focused content aligned with solicitation requirements and internal growth strategies.
- Conduct compliance checks and incorporate win themes to enhance proposal quality.
- Edit and proofread for clarity, consistency, and compliance.
- Support proposal kickoff meetings, color team reviews, and progress tracking.
- Manage proposal schedules, content libraries, and ensure proper version control.
- Collaborate with designers and editors to create visually compelling documents.
- Track proposal metrics, lessons learned, and process improvements.
- Enhance proposal tracking and decision-making through dashboard development and data visualization.
- Maintain and organize proposal repositories for accessibility and alignment with best practices.
- Support process improvements, automation tools, and compliance workflows.
- Research and recommend technology solutions, including AI-driven tools and CRM integrations.
- Assist in leading small-scale proposals, including quick-turn RFIs and task order responses.
- Develop outlines, compliance matrices, and response templates.
- Manage smaller proposal teams and support bid/no-bid decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with internal submission and approval processes.
- Develop and finalize RFIs and RFPs, ensuring quality control and compliance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to maintain databases, conduct research, and create business development materials.
- Oversee proposal production, peer reviews, and final submission requirements.
- Coordinate with teaming partners and refine proposal templates for future use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eligibility for Clearance
- Demonstrated ability or experience with the production, development, or fulfillment of prospect presentation materials.
- Experience supporting IDIQ proposals and managing quick turnaround response times.
- Understanding of the Shipley Proposal Process and demonstrated experience following the Shipley approach, including color team reviews.
- Familiarity with business development, capture management, and competitive analysis.
- APMP Foundation or Practitioner Certification (preferred but not required).
- Experience with AI-driven proposal tools, content automation, and proposal analytics.
- Experience using GovWin, SAM.gov, Deltek, or other government contracting research tools.
- Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign) for proposal layout (a plus).
- Experience with data visualization and dashboard development tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet) (a plus).
