Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- Minimum 10 years or more of experience in roadway related fields
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required. If PE is from another state, expectation to obtain a PE license in the State of California within 1 year of hire
- Caltrans projects experience and knowledge of Caltrans standards, policies, and manuals is essential or highly preferred
- Proficient in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and practices as well as solve complex engineering problems.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of roadway engineering tasks such as geometric design, engineering analyses, and project plan development.
- Prepare engineering design plans, engineering computations, technical reports, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
- Assist the project manager in executing and delivering project assignments.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal team and external clients/agencies.
- May plan, lead, and supervise lower level engineers on same assignments.
- Participate in project meetings as well as participate in site visits and field inspection as required.

- A strong foundation of experience and knowledge supporting major road and highway projects for any state DOT related work
- Superb verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well interfacing with various engineering and design teams
- Solid aptitude for knowledge sharing and learning to further advance skills
