Requirements
- Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky
- Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university
- Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years
- Basic life support
- ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
Responsibilities
- Implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person
- Create a caring environment focused on healing and wellness
- Honor patients’ mind, body, and spirit by respecting human dignity and uniqueness
- Base nursing practices on evidence, current research, and professional guidelines
- Incorporate all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity in clinical decision-making
- Spend majority of time coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities
- Conduct nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities
- Provide patient and family-centered education
- Coordinate care and individualized treatment planning as applicable.
