Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, plus 2 years of administrative experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent interviewing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in processing applications to the BSSW and MSW programs.
  • Facilitates the gatekeeping process to help ensure that students have a thorough understanding of the profession of social work.
  • Engages students in the self-assessment process to ensure that students are a good fit for the program and profession.
  • Develops and maintains the admissions, gatekeeping, and tracking systems.
  • Assists applicants and participates in student interviews to determine readiness for a professional social work program.
  • Advises students to support them through the program.
  • Supports the program through data tracking and analysis.
  • Assists the Chair, Program Director, and Director of Field Education in other programmatic and accreditation matters.
  • Communicates with other teams within the department and other university departments to facilitate collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree plus 2 or more years of administrative experience.
  • Experience in the social work or human services profession.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Interviewing experience.
