Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience involving regulatory compliance, legal support, or substantial collaboration with legal or compliance functions. Experience gained in an environment where safety is a core operational value is highly regarded
  • Experience directly managing or working with extended workforce partners, including managing to ensure compliance requirements or other measurable needs are met
  • A high standard of accuracy in all communications
  • Experience analyzing processes to identify potential gaps, inefficiencies, or opportunities for enhancement
  • Contribute to problem resolution by working effectively with others, proposing innovative solutions, and seeing them through
  • Ability to conceptualize turning repetitive tasks into automated workflows

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Waymo’s vendors to ensure compliant autonomous vehicle operators, performing daily and weekly tasks to support the vendors’ onboarding and offboarding of their employees
  • Identify opportunities for and then implement KPIs and other metrics to assess vendor performance
  • Prepare and submit external data reports, mainly concerning collision incidents, to state, federal, and international regulators, balancing independent responsibilities with active participation in a rotational team
  • Assemble and manage documentation observing Waymo’s documentation policies
  • Support ad hoc projects to respond to regulator requests for data
  • Directly manage a temp worker to further support the above work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical skills with proprietary software
  • High EQ with personally responsible, team player mentality
  • Experience assembling and submitting regulatory reports to regulators
  • Perform both manual, tedious tasks, and to lead the conceptualization and operationalization of new processes that improve and close gaps in existing flows
  • A focus on driver compliance programs, including motor vehicle records, background checks, and drug and alcohol testing programs
