Requirements
- 6+ years of experience with assembly, installation, and testing of aircraft systems components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, including hydraulic, fuel, aircraft tube fabrication, flight controls, propulsion, electrical and landing gear.
- Must have experience in hydraulic assembly or repair
- Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent.
- Prior hands on experience with kit, model, or experimental aircraft builds.
- Experience with common airframe construction techniques such as rivets, mechanical fasteners, nut plates, etc.
- Proficient with computer use (standard browser, word processing applications).
- Working knowledge of common electrical components.
- Able to read a wiring diagrams and follow assembly instructions.
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of work.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production.
- Motivated to support the company’s mission.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.
Responsibilities
- Work in an R&D environment with blueprints, schematics, and instructions that are constantly changing.
- Use various hand tools and power tools to put components together.
- Combine different subsystems or components into a larger, functioning system.
- Ensure compatibility and proper communication between integrated components.
- Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, test results, and any issues encountered.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures in the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or similar training.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering, Math, Hard Science, Business, etc.).
- Experience working on experimental or home built aircraft.
- Flight line or flight test experience.
- Machine shop experience.
- Familiar with fabrication of composite parts and assembly.
- Familiar with paste/secondary bonded structure.
- Experience running functional checkouts and tests, and diagnosing issues discovered during these processes.
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment with flight hardware.
- A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, manuals, and reports.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment.
- Previous or current DOD Security Clearance.
