Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required, AA or BA degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing leadership experience required.
  • Must have knowledge of fiberglass boat lamination processes and or sub-assembly, assembly operations.
  • Ability to analyze data and understand metrics and systems required.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, oral and listening.
  • Effective leadership and management skills to motivate employees build relationships and drive initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Ability to work as an effective team player.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ownership of safety culture, incident investigation, root cause and corrective action.
  • Ownership of metrics – safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Management up to 12 hourly production associates including Group Leaders and Crew Leaders.
  • Responsible for leadership and execution of training program for hourly employees in conjunction with Group Leader and Crew Leader roles.
  • Creation and execution of work schedules.
  • Interprets and enforces company policies, rules, and regulations in a consistent manner.
  • Acts as a liaison between management and the work force to keep operations management informed and maintain the highest possible level of employer-associate relations.
  • Provide effective associate relations within the team by ensuring that practices are fair and consistent, and are according to our Company values.
  • Demonstrates a culture of communication, collaboration, and recognition while treating everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Sets and meets high expectations, and communicates those expectations clearly.
  • Partners with HR for personnel actions, such as selections, promotions, transfers, performance evaluations, terminations, counseling and disciplinary measures.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and good housekeeping is maintained while meeting quality and cost requirements.
  • Train and engage associates in improving safety practices.
  • Works with support functions to ensure that all processes are under control.
  • Delegates daily work changes and coordinates out of station work as needed.
  • Responsible for department budgets to include chargebacks.
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with engineering team participating in LSS continuous improvements projects.
  • Responsible for leadership of 5S activities.
  • Coordinates product movement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AA or BA degree preferred.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
