Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in a software development environment, preferably in a startup or fast paced setting
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or a related subject area
- Strong analytical abilities and experience in using data to inform product decisions
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in agile teams
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Familiar with product management tools (e.g. JIRA, Trello) and techniques for backlog management
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate (verbal & written) the product vision and strategy ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs
- Collaborate with partners to include customers, business leaders, and cross functional teams to capture and prioritize product requirements
- Develop user stories and acceptance criteria that clearly articulates the desired functionality and user experience
- Act as the primary liaison between the development team and partners to ensure clear communication and understanding of product goals
- Prioritize product backlog while making informed decisions about which features and improvements to develop next based on business value and user feedback
- Participate in agile ceremonies including spring planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure the development team is aligned and focused on delivering value
- Monitor market trends and competitor offerings to inform product strategy and to find opportunities for differentiation
- Analyze product performance metrics and user feedback to iterate and improve the product continuously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the insurance or legal industry with an understanding of contract review processes
- UX/UI principles knowledge and the ability to partner with design teams
- Product Management or Agile Methodologies certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) is a plus
