Requirements

  • Experience launching 0→1 products: You’ve led new products from concept to launch
  • Customer-centric mindset: You live to talk to make things simple for customers
  • Data fluency: You’re hands-on with analytics. Able to understand where anecdotes and data conflict
  • Strong communication skills: You’re a pro at bridging gaps between design, engineering, marketing, and support—both internally and externally.
  • Consensus-building: You excel at listening to different perspectives and synthesizing them into a clear, shared roadmap.
  • Systems thinking: You anticipate how changes at the top of the funnel impact everything downstream.
  • Leadership: You’ll be our first PM, and we want you to be ready to shape the product culture at Roam, set high standards, and inspire those around you.

Responsibilities

  • Spend time with users every week and observe how they interact with Roam
  • Get inside the heads of buyers to uncover pain points and opportunities for delight and build a mental model that can be informed by user research
  • Define the key success metrics and ensure the app is properly instrumented
  • Use data to validate hypotheses, evaluate performance, and iterate quickly.
  • Prioritize features and initiatives, balancing impact, effort, and confidence
  • Foster consensus amongst teams about the best ideas where needed
  • Keep internal teams aligned on priorities, scope, and timelines.
  • Update customers about new releases, improvements, and product changes
  • Run product reviews to evaluate progress and gather feedback.
  • Maintain and refine the product roadmap as new insights emerge.
  • Run sprint planning to ensure engineering teams move quickly and effectively.
  • Help make bold decisions about where to invest and what to cut.
  • Elevate the product from just ‘removing pain’ to creating moments of delight.
  • Aim to build a product users love, not just use.
