- Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following: 1. Building and shipping applications or software at the level of whole features or products across a variety of platforms 2. Interaction design, including defining how an experience should behave based on understanding people’s needs 3. Prototyping 4. Visual design, including typography, desktop or mobile user interface, color, layout, and iconography 5. Understanding product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on the impact to internal and external users 6. Creating user flow and mockups to articulate design concepts 7. Defining product specifications and user experiences 8. Understanding and interpreting user research and usability testing 9. Conducting end to end design process across multiple projects including interaction and visual design artifacts and high-fidelity prototypes
Responsibilities
- Design digital user interfaces, create graphics, and design new experiences or layouts that evolve and/or define visual systems for web-based applications and technologies with a focus on aesthetics and design.
- Take broad, conceptual ideas and create design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant for supported platforms.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, UX researchers and content strategists to iterate and oversee user experience of a product from conception to launch.
- Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality.
- Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires review of a variety of factors.
- Partnering closely with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and to integrate technical constraints into design solutions, leveraging a strong foundation in computer science to communicate effectively and bridge the gap between design intent and technical implementation.
- Leading the iterative design process by rapidly prototyping and testing design solutions, and incorporating feedback from user testing, stakeholder reviews, and market analysis into design iterations.
- Contributing to the creation and maintenance of design systems and component libraries, utilizing a deep understanding of software architecture and programming principles to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across the product ecosystem.
- Analyzing user interaction data and technical performance metrics to optimize designs for user sentiment and business goals, applying a data-driven approach.
