Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and applicable work experience required.
  • 3+ years of computer application experience in a business setting required with insurance industry experience along with a solid understanding of insurance products is preferred.
  • Experience/education with spreadsheet (Excel) and database (Microsoft Access) software packages is required.
  • Strong analytical skills and math proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical product expertise for the purposes of developing, testing, and implementing new products and administration system modifications.
  • Provide internal and external product support by performing complex product calculations and manual calculations of non-system supported projections.
  • Develop sophisticated testing tools and test plans to verify the accuracy of illustrated values for new business and enforce illustrations as well as administration systems.
  • Perform detailed technical product calculations, provide technical product expertise, and support manually generated enforce illustrations.
  • Using Visual Basic programming language develops automation tools for the purposes of extracting or loading product rates into administration systems, extracting policy data from administration systems, decreasing illustration software release lead times, and automating manual processes.
  • Develop and implement test plans for new products and changes/enhancements to existing products and perform testing.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of documentation on new and existing testing tools, software testing, and other departmental procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to accounting and finance would be beneficial.
  • Microsoft Visual Basic programming experience preferred.
  • Experience with annuity administration systems is strongly preferred.
