Requirements

  • At least 5 years of digital/newroom experience.
  • Must have a passion for all things social. You should live in the digital/social world.
  • Having an innate knowledge of sports and sports culture world is a must.
  • Excellent organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in an environment where you and most may be remote.
  • You are detail-oriented and able to work under pressure, meeting multiple daily deadlines.
  • Strong ability to recognize stories that will work well socially and float within the ‘OutKick Lane.’ This content should translate across multiple platforms like the Outkick.com website and Outkick.com social media channels.
  • Degree in Journalism or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be a driver of the content, development, and production for multiple daily shows streamed on Outkick.com and hosted by Outkick.com personalities.
  • Being a digitally minded producer is a must. This includes everything from the look of the show to how it’s presented. We are looking for a digital/podcast feel and look.
  • Work to maximize our content across streaming, website, and social media platforms.
  • Understanding the basics of Premiere Pro is a must. As a digitally minded producer, you will be required to edit from time to time and create a workflow that bridges the gap between production and our social team.
  • Help with the ideation of thumbnails for social content.
  • Work closely with other show team members to achieve daily, short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals.
  • Should have experience mentoring team members.
  • Develop a close working relationship with our technical operations team.
  • Participate in daily team meetings to develop strategies to produce shows which drive the national sports and pop culture conversation.
  • Generate daily guest booking ideas and help book those guests.
  • Handle all aspects of pre-production (pre-taped segments, package approval, reporter scripts).
  • Write/copy edit scripts as needed.
  • Guide the technical crew through each element of the show using calm and clear instructions.
  • Keep the host on time using clear and effective cues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Journalism or related field preferred.
