Process Engineer Co-Op/Intern

Sophomore level by January 2026 or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
Completed Material and Energy Balances class prior to internship/co-op preferable
2.75 GPA or higher
1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred
Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
Basic computer skills are required
Experience working in a team environment is a must
Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
Must be authorized to work in the United States

Troubleshooting to identify root cause of problems in the phosphate processing and production
Apply mass and energy balances to evaluate and optimize process efficiency across various chemical operations
Support tactical projects in the dry side of Riverview, addressing site rate-limiting factors to improve operational efficiency
Gain exposure to production engineering and operations, fostering a well-rounded experience across multiple disciplines
Learn granulation processes to develop a strong understanding of production engineering and process optimization
Assisting with equipment efficiency tests and developing a process flow diagram for a new opportunity
Utilize modeling tools to validate process improvements and assist in prioritizing projects
Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), lab personnel, and contractors
Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
