PRN Hospital Pharmacist

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
Must be a ‘good standing’ licensed Pharmacist in the state of Florida
Ability to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals
Strong customer service skills
Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems
Flexibility to work various shifts
Ability to work on call or be in an on call rotation
May require vendor credentialing

Applies expert knowledge of drugs and related protocols, to verify physician orders for medications using pharmacy information system
Supervises Pharmacy Technicians to ensure the compliant and efficient operations of the pharmacy
Adjusts dosages based on established protocols for each drug
Educates patients on the proper use and expected effects of medications
Manages narcotics and inventory control and compliance
Audits outdated medication as needed
Contacts Nurses and Physicians as necessary to verify orders and obtain additional information regarding the order
Assists the Pharmacy Director in maintaining the pharmacy’s accreditation
On-Call duties: provide as needed pharmacy services outside of regular hours
