Requirements

  • Must be proficient with MS Office, including Excel
  • Knowledge of consolidation and equity method of accounting

  • Yardi Systems software experience a plus
  • Workiva software experience a plus

  • 4-year degree in Accounting or Master of Accounting
  • 4-7 years of accounting experience (private equity experience a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Review financial statements and monthly closing for the private equity funds/portfolios.
  • Review quarterly reports and other investor reporting materials
  • Demonstrate high technical accounting knowledge of consolidations, equity method accounting, and GAAP financial statement presentation. Responsible for ensuring consolidations and equity roll-ups are accurate on a monthly basis.
  • Ability to complete technical accounting research and write memos when needed.
  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting policies and accounting control procedures.
  • Interact with external auditors in completing audits, tax requests, and oversee external audit and tax deliverable processes. Write and maintain audit footnotes at year end.
  • Serve as primary accounting contact for multiple real estate funds, while also delegating work as applicable.
  • Responsible for translating operating agreements into actionable responsibilities related to calculating appropriate fees, meeting deadlines, preparing/reviewing required reports, and determining appropriate lead time on capital calls, distributions, or investors notifications.
  • Support and review of investor reporting and presentations, including calculating performance metrics.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience at a public accounting firm preferred
