Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in CS, IT, Engineering, or equivalent field (preferred)
  • 10 + yrs in IT with 8 + yrs in pre-sales architecture or systems engineering for virtualization or infrastructure software
  • Proven success leading technical strategy for large, multi-site or multi-million-dollar sales cycles
  • Hands-on design expertise with VMware vSphere/ESXi and KVM hypervisors; Nutanix AHV and Hyper-V familiarity a plus
  • Strong foundation in compute, networking (VLANs, virtual switching, SDN), and storage (SAN/NAS, SDS)
  • Proficiency with Linux and Windows administration; automation via PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ansible desirable
  • Advanced hands-on expertise with Linux Server administration—including Netplan-based networking (bonding, bridges, VLANs), storage configuration (LVM, ZFS, Ceph/NFS/iSCSI), and host-level troubleshooting
  • Comfortable engaging C-suite and mixed technical / non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Serve as regional SME for VM Essentials—define reference architectures and deployment best practices
  • Own technical discovery, scoping, risk mitigation, and solution design for strategic deals
  • Create and deliver C-level technical briefings, live demos, proof-of-concepts, and competitive positioning
  • Mentor field engineers; codify learnings into deployment guides and knowledge-base articles
  • Capture customer and partner feedback to influence product roadmap and usability improvements
  • Foster strong technical relationships with customers, channel partners, and internal HPE teams
  • Support partners with advanced training and joint solution design on complex pursuits
  • Track pre-sales activity and contribute to technical win plans and forecasting
