Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 5 years’ experience in systems and infrastructure engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
- 7 years’ experience in systems and infrastructure engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
- Technical acumen in containerization, Kubernetes, Service Mesh (e.g., Istio).
- Technical acumen in software engineering (e.g., Python, Go).
- Technical acumen in cloud engineering (e.g. GCP, Azure, and OpenStack).
- Experience building custom solutions in highly distributed environments.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (PCI, HIPAA, SOX, etc.).
- Customer focused, product mindset.
Responsibilities
- Implement Container Security using Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) and Open-Source Software (OSS) for three key capabilities: Kubernetes Security Posture Management (KSPM), Runtime threat detection and response, Admission Control.
- Develop code to automate and integrate systems and processes.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance the security controls for Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Implement and advocate for security best practices for Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Implement and advocate for security controls to ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards for Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Contribute to policies and standards that govern Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Build strong and trusting relationships with team members, Walmart Global Technology, and third-party vendor partners working collaboratively and cross-functionally to achieve objectives.
- Mentor and grow junior engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Kubernetes certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
- Security certifications: Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity or related area.
